Mt. Hope Horse Rescue, Inc. (formerly Mt. Hope Stables & Rescue, Inc.) was established in September 2007 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the well-being and enjoyment of horses. Our facility is located in a peaceful and idyllic setting in northern Lancaster County, PA.
Our mission is to give abused, abandoned, discarded and slaughter-bound horses a second chance. Through our rehabilitation process that includes immediate medical attention and intensive professional training, we strive to identify, evaluate and purposefully address each horse's individual needs. Our goal is to then release these horses for adoption and place them into homes where they will be enjoyed while continuing to be safe, cared for and loved.
You will find most of our horses to be in great shape and a pleasure to ride because of the daily attention and individual training and care that they receive from us.
We invite you to meet the horses that are currently in our care. Discover the special qualities and quirks of each horse; learn about their pasts, their breed; how tall they are; their favorite snacks and more. Regardless of the horse's name, feel free to call each one "Lucky"! You can also meet the horses in person by arranging in advance for a personal tour of our horse rescue.
For information on surrendering a horse or pony to Mt. Hope Horse Rescue, Inc., please contact Pat Potter, Director, at Pat@MtHopeHorseRescue.org. Due to the size of our facility and the limited space available, we usually have a waiting list of well-deserving horses.
